Setting up for VPN Connection
1. Check for Global Protect on your computer
- On a PC, click in the system tray at the bottom near the clock. Look for a Globe icon – Click on it
- On a Mac, look in the menu bar at the top right. Look for a Globe icon – Click on it
2. Click Connect
- You will be prompted to enter your username and password
- Enter username as the first initial of your first name and last name, i.e. cmoreland
- Enter your network password

Global Protect will begin to connect….

3. Now open Duo App on your Mobile device

- Global Protect will send the Duo app an authorization request. It will show up on your mobile device as a notification:


4. Tap on the Notification request to open the request and approve the request
- Tap the Green Check Mark to approve the request:
Once the Duo app request is approved, you will then be connected to VPN via Global Protect:

Troubleshooting
Global Protect
Verify you are on the latest version
- Click to open Global Protect
- Click the three lines in the upper right corner
- Click About
The most recent version is: 5.1.0-75

If you do not have this version, contact Support at support@altarum.org to get the latest version
Does Global Protect have the correct portals
- Click to open Global Protect
- Click the three lines in the upper right corner
- Click Settings
- Under the General Tab, review the list of Portals
- If you don’t have the correct portal, click “+” sign at the bottom to add additional portals


- Type in the portal that corresponds to your region:
Portals
DC - dc-connect.altarum.org
Silver Spring - md-connect.altarum.org
Michigan – mi-connect.altarum.org
